Meet the Men’s Storm Shell

Some days the forecast is more of a suggestion. You leave the house in light rain, and by mid-afternoon it is coming sideways, the temperature has dropped ten degrees, and everyone on the street is walking a little faster. Anyone who has spent a spring in the mountains or a November on the coast knows the day does not always go the way the app said it would.

The Storm Shell is what you reach for when you already know. Three-layer waterproof construction, every seam sealed, rated to 20,000mm — this is the most weatherproof piece we have built. It is the ski day where it is raining in the parking lot and snowing at the top. It is the hike where the ceiling drops two hours in and you keep going anyway.

You will find this build on shells that cost two or three times as much. We did not see a reason you should have to pay it.

Features & Materials

3-Layer Waterproof Construction: A 100% polyester face bonded to a PU membrane and 15D tricot backer, rated 20,000mm waterproof and 20,000g/m²/24hr breathable. Fully seam sealed, with abrasion and tear resistance built into the face fabric.

PFAS-Free Water Repellency: Finished with a plant-based, fluorine-free treatment — properly water-repellent, and free of forever chemicals.

Underarm Venting: Two-way waterproof zippers run down from the underarm, so you can dump heat on the climb without the bunching most pit zips leave you with.

Hood Adjustment: Adjusts front and back, with a hidden 3D system at the front that pulls the hood in close without putting a cord in your eye line.

Adjustable Fit: Hook-and-loop cuffs and a shockcord hem seal out wind and driving rain.

Smart Storage: Chest pockets set high enough to stay reachable under a backpack hipbelt, plus a laser-cut interior pocket.

Northern Sun Detailing: A whistle built into the main zipper pull and a D-ring for a headlamp or keys — the kind of details you only notice you have when you need them.

Temperature Rating

An uninsulated shell, so it is as warm as what goes underneath it. On its own it is a three-season wind and rain layer; over a Chinook Sherpa or a down midlayer it handles deep winter.

Designed in Canada. Ethically made in China.

Product Care

Machine wash cold. Tumble dry low. Do not iron or dry clean. For best results, follow the care label.

Model: 6'2" (188 cm) with a slim build, wearing size Medium for a trim fit.

Jason’s recommendation: Fits true to size. If you want a roomier fit or plan to wear heavier layers underneath, size up.
