Explore Canada Series: Part 3 - Bruce Trail
🌄 Bruce Trail
Canada’s Oldest and Longest Footpath 👣
Spanning over 900 km—with another 400 km of side trails—the Bruce Trail follows the spine of the Niagara Escarpment, a UNESCO World Biosphere. 🌍 It’s not just a hike. It’s an unfolding journey through some of the most diverse and unexpected landscapes in Ontario, right at the edge of urban life.
Winding from Queenston near Niagara Falls all the way up to Tobermory on the tip of the Bruce Peninsula, the trail is divided into nine sections, each cared for by its own Bruce Trail Club.
Whether you're new to hiking or chasing your next big adventure, the Bruce Trail makes it easy to start. Trails are well-marked, regularly maintained, and full of surprises.
What makes The Bruce Trail so special?
The Bruce Trail isn’t just long—it’s rich. It cuts through a tapestry of landscapes that feels more like something out of a National Geographic doc than a day trip from Toronto.
🌳 Lush forests so quiet you can hear your own breath
🪨 Limestone cliffs rising dramatically from the earth
💧 Hidden waterfalls and secret grottos
🌾 Peaceful farmland and storybook vineyards 🍇
🐾 Wildlife corridors and conservation zones that shelter hundreds of species
One day you're sipping wine in the Niagara region. 🍷 The next, you're scrambling up rocks overlooking the turquoise expanse of Georgian Bay 💙. There’s no other trail in Canada quite like it—and no better way to experience Ontario’s natural and cultural story underfoot.
