Explore Canada Series: Part 23 - Gaspé Peninsula
Gaspé Peninsula, Quebec – Part 23: July 30, 2026
Some trips feel like you’ve really gone somewhere. The Gaspé Peninsula is one of those.
It’s not exactly close & that’s part of what makes it so good. The farther you go, the quieter it gets. The roads stretch longer, the coastline gets more dramatic, and the whole trip starts to feel like something a little different.
You follow the edge of the St. Lawrence as it turns into the Gulf, with cliffs dropping into the water and small towns spaced out along the way. It’s not a quick trip. It’s a loop.
A commitment. And worth every kilometre. A few days here feels like you’ve properly unplugged.
If You Go
- Forillon National Park - Cliffs, hiking, and some of the best coastal views in the province.
- Percé Rock - You’ve probably seen it—but it’s still worth seeing in person.
- The coastal drive - This is the main event. Take your time with it.
- Small roadside stops - Gas stations, diners, viewpoints—don’t overthink it.
Good to Know
Distances are bigger than they look - give yourself more time than you think you need.
Weather off the water can change quickly - layers will make a big difference.
Enjoy the journey!
