Explore Canada Series: Part 22 - Yukon
Yukon – Part 22: July 16, 2026
Some places make you feel small. The Yukon does it in a way that’s hard to explain until you’re there.
You notice it on the drive first. The space. The silence. The way the landscape just keeps going - mountains, rivers, tundra, all stretching farther than you can really take in.
If You Go
- Tombstone Territorial Park - Sharp peaks, wide valleys, and one of the most unforgettable landscapes in the country.
- The Dempster Highway (even just a stretch) - A road that feels like it goes on forever - in the best way.
- Miles Canyon (Whitehorse) - An easy walk with surprisingly dramatic views.
- Carcross Desert - Small but unique. Worth the stop.
Good to Know
The light sticks around almost all night, which can throw off your sense of time (and sleep). Bring something to block out the sun if you’re camping.
Weather can change quickly, especially outside Whitehorse - layers will make your life easier.
Enjoy the journey!

A quick reminder to explore responsibly: always check conditions before you go, pack for changing weather, bring the proper gear, and make sure someone knows your plans. Stay safe and enjoy the outdoors.
